Lithium ion batteries are hazardous. Any failure to follow these safety instructions could damage the battery or charger which could cause fire, chemical burns, electrolyte leaks, and/or could lead to serious and/or fatal injuries. If the battery explodes, immediately call the fire department, cautiously remove any other batteries if possible, evacuate all persons from immediate area of fire, and use cold water to put out the fire.
1. Use only the SRAM-supplied charger and cords. Use of other chargers and cords may cause the battery to overheat, catch fire, and/or explode.
2. Replace rechargeable batteries with genuine SRAM rechargeable batteries only.
3. Replace batteries only with the type described in the user manual.
4. Used batteries are hazardous and must be recycled in accordance with the applicable local, federal, and/or EU regulations. Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
5. Do not use the battery outside of the temperature range specified in the user manual; avoid exposure to excessive heat or cold. Do not leave the battery in direct sunlight or in a vehicle.
6. Do not place the battery or charger in or near fire or in a place where static electricity occurs.
7. Do not modify or disassemble the battery or charger. Avoid dropping your battery or charger. Do not use a battery or charger that has been dropped or is damaged. Signs of damage include: discoloration, dents, cracks, punctures, or leakage.
8. Do not charge the battery in a damp or wet location. Avoid exposure to moisture and/or water during charging. For parts with a plug, do not insert or remove the plug while it is wet; otherwise, it may cause an electric shock. Make sure the plug is dry before inserting it.
9. Do not leave the battery in a charger or on equipment if it generates an odor and/or heat, changes color and/or shape, leaks electrolyte, or causes any other abnormality. If you notice any abnormalities, immediately remove the battery from the charger or equipment.
10. Do not leave a charging battery unattended. Do not leave the battery connected to the charger after charging is complete. Store the battery at room temperature with the battery cover on, if provided.
11. Do not allow metal, such as paper clips, coins, or keys, to come into contact with the battery terminals. Metal can damage the battery terminals and cause the battery to short-circuit.
12. This product may contain a coin/button cell battery, which is non-rechargeable.
13. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children at all times. Batteries can be a choking hazard, and if swallowed can cause internal chemical burns in as little as two hours and lead to death. Dispose of used batteries immediately. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
SKIN IRRITANT
Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur. Do not allow leaked electrolyte to come into contact with eyes or skin. Immediately wash the affected area with clean water and seek medical advice.
